Dr. Kate Ackerman

Dr. Kate Ackerman is a pioneering physician whose career centers on transforming care for female athletes. Triple-boarded in Internal Medicine, Sports Medicine, and Endocrinology, she serves as Director of WHSP Medical and Co-Founder/President of the WHSP Institute, where clinical insights and research innovations move in lockstep. Dr. Ackerman is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and research staff in the MGH Neuroendocrine Unit.
She serves on the National Leadership Council of the Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance, chairs its Sports Advisory Council, and has held leadership roles with the USOPC and USRowing, including 2024 Olympic physician. Founder of the Female Athlete Conference and Deputy Editor of the British Journal of Sports Medicine, she has authored 175+ peer-reviewed publications spanning REDs, bone health, endocrinology, and performance across the lifespan. A former U.S. National Team rower, Dr. Ackerman brings athlete-centered perspective to evidence-based, interdisciplinary care.
