Our Story:
WHSP Medical was founded to redefine how female athletes receive care and to transform the future of women’s sports medicine.
For too long, women’s sports medicine has been fragmented—treating injuries in isolation and overlooking the critical connections between hormonal health, nutrition, movement patterns, mental well-being, and performance. Our answer is a new model: one that unites sports medicine, endocrinology, nutrition, mental health, and performance science under one roof, directly linked to cutting-edge research through our partner institute. Here, discovery and care are inseparable.
Led by Dr. Kathryn (Kate) Ackerman, our integrated clinic and research institute collaborate as one. Clinical insights shape our research, and research breakthroughs are applied in real time to patient care. The result? Evidence-based, personalized care that supports athletes at every stage of life and performance.

Our Mission
Our Mission
Inspire, empower, educate and convene researchers, clinicians, and the broader sports community to drive advancements in our understanding of female athlete health and performance. Share discoveries globally to improve care practices, reshape the culture of female sports, and ultimately, transform the state of women’s health overall.
Our Values:
Athlete-Centered Approach
We tailor care to the unique needs of female athletes, empowering them to train, recover, and perform at their best at every age and stage.
Integration Over Isolation
Every part of an athlete’s health is connected. We unite medicine, science, and performance to treat the whole person.
Evidence in Action
Research is only powerful when it reaches the athlete. We translate science into care, ensuring every decision is backed by the latest knowledge.
Athletes for Life
We support athletes through every stage, from youth to masters, ensuring longevity in sport and strength in life.
Pioneering for the Future
We challenge the status quo in women’s sports medicine, creating the model of care and research that should have always existed.
Collaboration in Care
No single clinic has all the answers. We work closely with trusted doctors and specialists, referring and receiving patients to deliver truly comprehensive care.
“53 years, 2 generations of women and girls — have elapsed since Title IX was signed into law. Now is the time to level up! With focused translational research, comprehensive clinical care, and unprecedented collaboration, imagine the records and ceilings our female athletes will smash.”
